About me!

My name is Felipe Grez. I am the owner and head coach of Jiu Jitsu Kingdom (Sydney, Australia). I am a Black belt in BJJ and I have been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over 14 and a half years. I love the art of Jiu Jitsu and it plays a huge part of my life in all its aspects such as training, teaching, competing and even the lifestyle! I have been very fortunate to travel the world, train with and learn from some of the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu teachers and fighters around and I look forward to sharing my thoughts and experiences with you and continuing my own path of study in this great art! I hope that your journey in the art of Jiu Jitsu will be a positive and healthy learning experience for you in life just as it has been for me.

Good luck with your training and Happy rolling!

    Hey Felipe

Great to see a homegrown BJJ blog! Great format, I really enjoy the tips on training and goal setting. Would love to hear your thoughts on the importance of drilling versus rolling…like you I am hanging out for the Galvao book. Next time I am in Sydney I will make a point of dropping in for a class. Keep it up!

Thanks Josh, sorry for such a long delay in writing back! I’ll have a post on drilling up in the next few weeks!

I’ll be in Australia on Sunday and I’ll be staying there for two weeks. I’d like to train at your place is that is possible. I started BJJ in California with Marcelo Pereira and Nelson Monteiro under the supervision of Carlos Gracie. I am purple belt now and I live in Japan. I have to go to a conference starting on Monday and I don’t want to be lazy, I’d like to train BJJ. How far is this place from Circle Quay?
what’s the best time to visit you?

    JP

    • jiujitsukingdom Says:

Hi JP, how are you? My apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I’ve been super busy with my two month old son, Hunter. You’re welcome to come down anytime although I think Tuesday day and Thursday nights would probably be best suited for you. It’s probably a half hour walk from Circular Quay straight down George street or a couple of stops by train at central station. It’s probably best if you email me and I can give you more details. Give me a call if you need directions or help! I’ll do anything I can to help you get some good training in while you’re hear even if its at another mate Owen’s gym in the city where he has a lot more advanced guys(I’ve only been teaching here for a year so dont have many advanced guys yet). Hope I can help! 🙂
      Kind Regards

Chael Sonnen pretty much needs the fight to go to the ground to have any chance, because his standup isn’t all that great. For him to be effective, he needs to score a takedown and keep Silva down, neither of which are easy feats – or safe, for that matter.

    • jiujitsukingdom Says:

Didnt that fight turn out to be a barn burner with a great submission win for Anderson! What a champion!
